LIST: Local Bus Operators With Adjusted Trips Due to Fuel Price Hikes

Diesel is now at PHP 170 per liter.

Fuel prices under PHP50 per liter seem like a distant memory now. The past five weeks have been marked by a series of oil price hikes due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, prompting Filipinos to go out only for essentials like groceries and work. As of writing, oil firms have just set another double-digit increase, with diesel now at PHP170 per liter.

Aside from commuters, the transportation industry is bearing the burden of rising fuel prices–from jeepney drivers to bus operators. Whether you’re someone who regularly uses buses for transportation or you have an upcoming long-distance trip, these local bus companies have announced adjustments to their schedules and operations:

Free bus rides

While fuel prices are constantly increasing, some local government units and bus operators have taken the initiative to provide free bus rides to commuters, including Pasig’s Libreng Sakay Program and Quezon City Government’s Libreng Sakay.

Meanwhile, Genesis Transport Services, Inc. also recently announced that it now offers free shuttle rides for passengers departing from Clark International Airport.
