Your camera roll will thank you.

October is often synonymous with pumpkin spice lattes, Halloween, and, as far as Museums and Galleries Month is concerned, getting cultured, apparently. This year’s theme, “Bridging Divides: Preserving Traditions, Fostering Innovation,” focuses on connecting what came before with what we’re creating now. And no, that doesn’t mean you have to suddenly wear your pompous art critic hat. The best part? These museums won’t cost you a single peso. Because all you need is a valid government ID (for walk-in registration, of course), a comfy outfit, and a good sense of museum do’s and don’ts. Here are eight museums to put on your radar this month:
1. UST Museum

WHERE: 3rd floor, Main Building, University of Santo Tomas, España Boulevard, Sampaloc, Manila
ADMISSION: FREE admission from October 5 to 28
OPERATING HOURS:
- Monday: 9 AM to 3 PM
- Tuesdays to Fridays: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
The UST Museum is the oldest existing museum in the Philippines, established in 1869, and houses collections spanning religious art, archaeological objects, ethnographic materials, and works from some of the country’s most important artists.
It’s a pretty solid stop if you’re already exploring the historic University of Santo Tomas campus or on a cafe-hopping spree along España Boulevard. The UST Museum also enforces a dress code, so make sure your ‘fit ticks all the boxes.
2. Metropolitan Museum of Manila

WHERE: MK Tan Centre, 30th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila
ADMISSION: FREE admission until October 18
OPERATING HOURS:
- Tuesday to Friday: 11 AM to 6 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 10 AM to 6 PM
The Metropolitan Museum of Manila, or The M, is currently showing TRAVERSE: Creativity in Motion, an exhibition featuring works by the 2026 Metrobank Art and Design Excellence awardees. Expect paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media pieces showcasing a range of contemporary Filipino creative voices that delve into meaningful reflections on shared human experiences.
3. Ateneo Art Gallery

WHERE: Ateneo Art Gallery, Soledad V. Pangilinan Arts Wing, Arete, Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City, Metro Manila
ADMISSION: FREE admission every Friday and Saturday, plus selected Sundays throughout October 2026.
OPERATING HOURS:
- Monday to Saturday: 9 AM to 5:30 PM
- Special Sunday Schedule: 9 AM to 4 PM, October 18 | 11 AM to 7:30 PM, October 25
The Ateneo Art Gallery has an exciting October calendar, with exhibitions, talks, film screenings, workshops, and community art activities throughout the month. This means you’re not just walking around and admiring paintings, although that’s always a classic approach. You can actually join the conversation and tap deeper into your inner artist.
4. Bahay Modernismo

WHERE: Quezon Memorial Circle, Elliptical Road, Barangay Central, Quezon City, Metro Manila
ADMISSION: FREE
OPERATING HOURS:
- Tuesday to Sunday: 9 AM to 4 PM
Bahay Modernismo feels like a history lesson that you can actually walk through. The house museum was built using original architectural fragments from the Aquino family’s former home on Times Street, bringing the post-war era back to life through vintage furniture, kitchenware, household items, and other preserved pieces. The museum also features an exhibition area with miniature models of Quezon City infrastructure.
5. Presidential Cars Museum

WHERE: Quezon Memorial Circle, Elliptical Road, Diliman, Quezon City
ADMISSION: FREE
OPERATING HOURS:
- Tuesday to Sunday: 9 AM to 5 PM
The Presidential Cars Museum proves that sometimes the best way to get Filipinos interested in history is with something tangible and highly visual—and, in this case, four wheels. The museum showcases vintage cars connected to former Philippine presidents, offering history buffs and automotive enthusiasts alike a different way to view the country’s political and social history.
6. National Museum of the Philippines

WHERE: P. Burgos Drive, Rizal Park, Manila
ADMISSION: FREE
OPERATING HOURS:
- Monday to Sunday: 9 AM to 6 PM.
No museum hopping is complete without the big triad: the National Museum of Fine Arts (home to Juan Luna’s Spoliarium), the Museum of Anthropology, and the Museum of Natural History. You might also want to stretch out a bit before you start, because exploring all three museums is a full workout in itself.
7. Quezon Heritage House

WHERE: Quezon Memorial Circle, Elliptical Road, Barangay Central, Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila
ADMISSION: FREE
OPERATING HOURS:
- Tuesday to Sunday: 9 AM to 4 PM
If you’re curious as to what a former president’s home looked like, take this as your sign to visit the Quezon Heritage House inside Quezon Memorial Circle. The reconstructed house was based on the Quezon family’s former residence on Gilmore Street in New Manila and preserves interiors and belongings connected to the family. You can even see the recipe for Quezon’s favorite dish, Cocido Español, displayed here.
8. Tandang Sora Women’s Museum

WHERE: Tandang Sora National Shrine, Banlat Road, Quezon City, Metro Manila
ADMISSION:
- FREE for Quezon City residents
- Non-Quezon City residents: PHP 50
OPERATING HOURS:
- Tuesday to Sunday: 9 AM to 4 PM
Dedicated to the country’s “Ina ng Katipunan at Himagsikan,” Melchora Aquino, and trailblazing Filipinas throughout history, the Tandang Sora Women’s Museum highlights icons like revolutionary leader Teresa Magbanua and Encarnacion Alzona, the country’s first female historian and first female doctorate holder. The museum also displays artifacts and items Melchora used in her daily life.
