Spring is right around the corner. While the Philippines experiences a cool, windy climate in the early months of the year, we don’t experience the transition from winter to spring. Popular springtime destinations near the Philippines include Japan and South Korea, which require visa applications.

But did you know that Hong Kong experiences spring and you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing, too? Hong Kong remains a popular visa-free destination for Filipinos, and if you’re traveling this spring, here are some spots you shouldn’t miss for seeing cherry blossoms in full bloom.

Cherry Blossom Garden – Hong Kong International Airport

Location: Chek Lap Kok South Road, Tung Chung

You can already start your cherry blossom viewing itinerary right when you land in Hong Kong. The Cherry Blossom Garden, managed by the Hong Kong International Airport, is HK’s largest garden dedicated to cherry blossoms. There are approximately 85 trees planted here, and it’s a sight to behold. Walk along the manicured paths with Tung Chung Bay as your backdrop. You’ll even see the colorful cable cars going to Ngong Ping Station.

Ngong Ping Village, Lantau Island

Ngong Ping Village is also a popular destination for first-time visitors to Hong Kong. For a scenic journey, visitors usually ride the Ngong Ping 360 cable car to the island. But if you’re looking for a more affordable way to get there, you can take the longer bus ride.
