While the crowd usually heads to Makati’s busy weekend markets, find yourself a slice of quiet paradise tucked in Legazpi Village at Tasyo Reading Café. In a city where cafe pastries can be priced as much as hundreds per piece, it’s refreshing to find a café that offers breads you’d usually see at your local panaderia. Pair the pastry with a cup of coffee, and you might just find the perfect combination to help you read more pages of your current book.

On weekdays, Tasyo Reading Café also offers a Library Pass, which lets you stay in a quieter area of the café. You can opt for two hours, five hours, or even an entire day. They also have a community shelf, in case you need want to bring old reads you’d like to donate.

This cafe, which is open round the clock, is also perfect for students seeking space for late nights, as it’s conveniently located in the university belt. They also offer free WiFi and sockets.

While the P. Burgos branch is open 24/7, their second branch on Taft Avenue is open only from 8 AM to 3 AM.
