Combine the local destinations reopening to tourists and waiving the RT-PCR test requirement with Pinoys gearing up for their “revenge travel” and we’ll see the local travel industry up and coming again. Included in the list of destinations reopening is Siquijor, which is more than the magic and healing it’s known for. Home to various natural attractions and white sand beaches, the island is perfect for a secluded tropical getaway and these huts are the ideal stay.

Jungle Huts Siquijor

Nestled on a small valley in the municipality of Lazi in Siquijor, Jungle Huts offer a private and secluded space for a relaxing respite in nature. If you’re looking into exploring the island’s famous attractions but still want to come home to a private and peaceful space, you’ll fall in love with this rustic hut surrounded by a verdant garden.

Ideal for two guests, the two-floor hut is made entirely of bamboo, which will remind you of traditional Pinoy homes. On the ground floor, you’ll find a living area as well as a fully-equipped kitchen, which is perfect if you plan on cutting down expenses from eating out. According to the owners, the market is just a three-minute ride away from the hut.

The private bath is also located on the first floor that opens to an outdoor shower surrounded by plants; an ideal photo spot for photos!

Outside, you’ll find a spacious veranda complete with chairs and a table. It’s the ideal place for lounging, enjoying a meal alfresco, or simply appreciating the nature view. An outdoor grill is also located just a few steps away, which also doubles as a bonfire pit.

The main sleeping area is located upstairs, and it features a stylish circular window, allowing guests to appreciate the garden view. It also helps with the hut’s ventilation; you might not even need to use a fan anymore.

Nearby attractions

Aside from the privacy, one of the best things about Jungle Hut is its proximity to a number of famous attractions on the island, including Cambugahay Falls. But if you wish to go somewhere nearer first, a secluded enchanted river is approximately just 130 meters away.

The owners suggest hiring a motorbike to help you travel around the island. A 20-minute ride going east will lead you to hidden beaches, mahogany forests, and Salgadoong, which is a famous cliff diving spot. A 30-minute ride west will bring you to the white sand beaches of San Juan and various restaurants. Embrace the island life and enjoy the enchanting attractions offered by Siquijor!
