An enclave within the city of Rome, the Vatican City is a sight to behold.

Vatican is an independent city-state that is just over 100 acres in size, but don’t let that discourage you of the sights to see as it has a lot of magnificent structures.

It houses St. Peter’s Basilica, a classic example of Renaissance architecture with a truly majestic design. And there is also the Sistine Chapel, the official residence of the Pope, and famous for its painted ceiling and The Last Judgement, painted by Michelangelo.

There are also the Vatican Museums that house an estimate of 70,000 works, of which 20,000 are on display. Here you can find the finest works of art, classical sculptures and masterpieces of the renaissance era that are truly astonishing.

The Vatican City is definitely a city that you won’t regret visiting – watch the video above to see why!
