Also known as Dormition Cathedral the construction of the first structure made of stone took place in 1215. It was later consecrated in 1219 and became the cathedral of the Bishop of Yaroslavl and Rostov. It was then burnt and destroyed over the centuries. The current reconstruction of the beautiful white structure began in 2004 and finished in 2010.
