Whether it’s a long-awaited reunion or a spontaneous gala with your besties, we’ve prepared some cafes near the metro that are worth going the short drive for:

 

Punto Café & Bento

Location: Alaminos, Laguna

When visiting a café, you’d usually pair your beverages with desserts and pastries but this roadside café will make the drive to Laguna worth it with their unique menu. If you love sushi rolls, bento, and a good cup of coffee, you’re in for a treat! Punto offers hot and cold beverages starting at P50 and various sushi rolls starting at P45. Don’t worry about visiting late; the café is open until 8 PM and you might catch a colorful sunset too, which makes the alfresco dining setting better.

Cafe Grey

Location: Pililia, Rizal

Nestled inside Santi’s Farm in Pililia, Rizal, Cafe Grey offers a picturesque cafe experience. You’ll have an idyllic nature view and windmills as your background when you visit! What makes it even more special is that this café is open on weekends only, giving you something to look forward to throughout the week.

75th Street Cafe

Location: San Pablo, Laguna

If you’re looking for a low-key cafe with a view, go for 75th Street Café situated just across Sampaloc Lake in San Pablo, Laguna. Locals originally know it as Red Bar Events Place, but they changed into a café in 2021. Painted with murals outside, it’s also a favorite among riders and cyclists who visit the lake. After a morning of exercise or simply walking around, it’s the perfect place to catch breakfast and good coffee. 75th Street is also ideal for those looking for a WFH spot; they give a P10 to P15 discount on your next coffee refill. P.S. They’re pet-friendly too.

While a drive to Tagaytay isn’t complete without getting a hot bowl of bulalo, the cool city has new cafes and restaurants to visit, just like Cafe Yama where you can have your Japanese food cravings satisfied. It’s located in Crosswinds, perfect for when you plan on doing a food crawl. They serve filling meals: noodles, teppanyaki, donburi, and more, which you can enjoy in an alfresco setting. Some of their signature drinks include Kyoto Macchiato (P310) and Kuromitsu Latte (P330).

Loghouse Cafe

Location: Receno Compoung General Luna St. Sabang, Lipa, Batangas

If you don’t want to go for the extra hours on the road to go to Baguio, you can have the same highland feel by heading South and visiting Loghouse Cafe in Lipa, Batangas. Just like the cozy cabins in the Summer Capital, the cafe is surrounded by tall pine trees and features an expansive garden where you can enjoy the fresh air. They also have indoor seating in the cozy cabin, which is complete with a real fireplace. Since you’re in Batangas already, don’t forget to try Kapeng Barako (P120)!

Sirius Espresso

Espresso in Bulacan brings a unique space to its customers with its industrial interior design. The cafe is tucked in a quiet neighborhood, which is ideal for those who want a low-key hideaway without the usual noise from people and traffic. Aside from their coffee and non-coffee beverages, patrons always return for their artisanal sourdough bread, which makes their sandwich menu to die for. Cafe Corner in Imus is perfect for those who are looking for a bright, clean, and minimalist cafe where you can feast on not only aesthetic interiors but also good food.
