Also known as Dataran Merdeka, this square is an ideal place to take a leisurely stroll and admire the British colonial-influenced buildings. You’ll see churches and other remnants of Britain’s former empire. The field also has historical significance to the Malaysians; it is the location where the country proclaimed their independence in 1957.
