In Chiang Mai alone, there are 300 temples you can visit. Its most famous. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is simply astounding, and it’s at the peak of a windy mountain road. There are too many to name and you won’t have time to visit them all, but some of the best ones to visit are Wat Phra That Doi Kham, Wat Pra Singh, Wat Suan Dok and the eerie Wat Umong. Chiang Rai has some beautiful temples to visit also, like the Wat Rong Khun aka ‘The White Temple’ that looks like it has been sent from the heavens. If you’re still in Chiang Rai, the Golden Triangle in Chiang Saen is quite a sight; a huge golden Buddha perched up high around one hour from Chiang Rai centre.
