PSA: You Can Experience a Cinema Under the Stars at This Year’s Cinemalaya Film Fest

Tickets are at P250 each.
by | August 24, 2021

Film buffs, it’s that time of the year again. While we miss the feeling of walking in the dark hallways of movie theaters, outdoor cinemas like Taguig’s floating cinema will be the new (and fun) normal in enjoying films. In its 17th year, Cinemalaya will showcase select films from its 2021 roster at an outdoor cinema, giving Pinoys a safer and unique film viewing experience.

Cinema Under the Stars

Whether you’re looking for a fun activity for your next date night or simply want to enjoy an outdoor cinema for the first time, Cinemalaya’s Cinema Under the Stars is an event you shouldn’t miss. Bring a blanket, snacks, and enjoy the breeze as the 17th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival will showcase select films every 4:00 pm, 7:00 pm, and 9:00 pm at Liwasang Ulalim, CCP Complex from September 2-4, 2021.

The outdoor event was originally set for August 14 but as Metro Manila went into lockdown, it had to be rescheduled to the next month.

Viewers who want a more intimate and safer viewing experience can also opt for the drive-in theater option. Park, enjoy the aircon, and watch safely from the comforts of your vehicle!

How can I purchase tickets to the outdoor cinema?

Tickets for each film are at P250, which you can purchase at the KTXexperience website. Tickets bundled with food and drinks can also be purchased with an additional charge.

After selecting a schedule, fill out all the required payment details. Payment can be made through credit card, over-the-bank local bank and non-local bank transaction, online bank transfer, and e-wallets such as GrabPay, ECPAY, PayMaya, and GCash.

You can still watch Cinemalaya films at home

Don’t worry if you live too far from CCP, you can still enjoy Cinemalaya’s films safely at home, just like last year’s film festival. Turn your space into a mini home theater and purchase films via the KTXexperience website.
