ICYMI: DFA Is Now Accepting Walk-In Passport Applicants Under Courtesy Lane

Walk-in applicants are now accepted under the Courtesy Lane.
by | March 23, 2022

For most Pinoys, their passport has only been used as a valid ID for the past two years. But with countries reopening their borders for international tourists, going abroad for leisure is now possible sooner than we think. As more Pinoys feel more confident to travel again, the demand for passport renewal slots has been increasing. To address the demand, the DFA began accepting walk-in applicants under the courtesy lane, beginning March 16, 2022.

Courtesy Lane opens to Consular Offices nationwide

More Pinoys are getting their passports renewed – there has been an increase in the demand for Courtesy Lane at the DFA Office of Consular Affairs located in ASEANA Business Park. To improve DFA’s services and address the demand, Secretary of Foreign Affairs Teddy Boy Locsin ordered the opening of Courtesy Lane in all Consular Offices nationwide this month.

This means that eligible passport applicants under the Courtesy Lane can simply walk in any Consular Office, without driving to the ASEANA office that previously offered the walk-in lane exclusively. Walk-in applicants must also be fully-vaccinated and present all passport requirements.

Note: Temporary Off-Site Passport Services (TOPS) will not be accepting walk-in applicants.
