Heads up, chinggus! If you’re planning to make your Korea travel plans happen this year, things are looking brighter when it comes to South Korea’s visa application policies. A new Korean Visa Application Center is opening in BGC in August, and here’s everything you need to know about it:

Changes in the Korean Visa Application Process

Whether you’re planning a trip or currently have an online visa application reservation, here are important changes you need to take note of as the new Korean Visa Application Center begins its operation on August 14, 2023.

The KVAC will be at 9F-10F Brittany Hotel BGC, 6 McKinley Parkway, Taguig City, Metro Manila.

As announced by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines, ALL submissions and release of passports will only be available at KVAC after its opening. The embassy will no longer accept applications and release visas.

KVAC will have its pilot operation period from August 14-25, 2023, and will only accept applications with online reservations.

The tentative start of official operation will be on August 29, 2023.

Online visa appointment

The online visa appointment system will end after the last opening slots for August have been processed.

However, online reservation is required for visa applications to be filed from August 1 – 25, 2023.

Take note of the following dates:

  • July 27, 2023 (9 AM) – online reservation slots for the month of August will open
  • August 1 – 11 – applications with online reservations will be accepted at the Korean Embassy
  • August 14 – 25 – applications with online reservations will be accepted at KVAC in BGC

Will walk-ins be accepted?

Yes. From August 29, 2023, walk-in applications will be accepted on working days without a limit on the number of applicants per day.

I have an existing online visa reservation; will it be accepted at KVAC?

Yes. Applications with online reservations will be accepted from August 14-25.

Designated travel agencies for visa application

Beginning August 29, 2023, visa applications will only be accepted in person or through designated travel agencies.

There will be no changes on designated travel agencies for 2022 and an updated list will be released in the future.
