Get ready to immerse yourself in the majesty of Renaissance art without having to set foot on a plane! There’s no need to travel all the way to the Vatican to get a glimpse of the mesmerizing art on the Sistine Chapel’s walls and ceilings as these paintings will be brought to Manila during an exhibition in July.

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibit

While the real Sistine Chapel doesn’t allow photography and visitors can only admire the awe-inspiring paintings from a distance, Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibit happening from July 1 to September 30, 2023, at 2/F Estancia Mall, Capitol Commons will allow Filipinos to experience Michelangelo’s art from an up-close, life-sized, and never-before-seen perspective.

“With special expertise and care, the ceiling paintings from the Sistine Chapel have been reproduced in a truly unique way using licensed high-definition photos. Brought to life using a special printing technique that emulates the look and feel of the original paintings, visitors are given a chance to engage with the artwork in ways that were never before possible: seeing every detail, every brushstroke, and every color of the artist’s 34 frescoes,” the site states.

Filipinos can look forward to seeing “The Creation of Adam”, “David and Goliath”, “The Fall of Man and the Expulsion from Paradise”, and “The Great Flood” to name a few.

The successful exhibit has gone to cities around the world such as Breslau in Poland, London in England, Melbourne in Australia, and New York.

How to get tickets

Ticket details for the upcoming event have not been revealed by the organizers, but they will be on sale starting April 1. Keep your eyes peeled on the official website for updates.
