Cebu is full of natural attractions and different destinations that both locals and tourists can’t get enough of — from white sand beaches to unique gardens. If you’re looking for some quiet time during your stay, this treehouse in Balamban, Cebu is worth the three-hour drive from the city.

Treehouse de Valentine is a little haven tucked in the middle of a rainforest in Balamban, Cebu. We’re always in awe of modern vacation homes boasting gorgeous interiors but nothing beats the classic Pinoy house made of nipa and bamboo. You’re going back to the basics but without forgetting about comfort and luxury. This unconventional experience is something the adventurous would enjoy. The best part is it’s located by a river — you have a private natural pool just a few steps away from the house.

The space

You can enjoy both nature and luxury at Treehouse de Valentine. It’s a three-bedroom home equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay: king-sized beds, a bathroom, and a fully-functional kitchen, which can accommodate up to eight guests. There are five beds and three baths in the property.

Even its bathroom is all-natural. Who said you can’t bathe while enjoying nature? Soak in the wooden bathtub overlooking the surrounding forest. Bring a book, light a candle, and you’re good to go.

Each room opens to a balcony, which lets in the fresh cool air as you’re being lullabied to sleep by the sounds of nature. The king-sized beds have a canopy around it, which will protect you from bugs.

Remember you’re in a forest; so prepare to meet some insects and other critters during your stay. It’s the complete off-the-grid experience.

What makes Treehouse de Valentine a more unique and relaxing spot is its location, which is by a river. Staying in the middle of the jungle is already very relaxing, but having a natural swimming pool by the house takes the experience to another level. Imagine being surrounded by the sounds of nature and stream — yes, please.

There’s also a patio by the river with a hammock, just waiting for you to take your afternoon siesta in it.

How to get there

Location: Brgy. Hingatmonan, Balamban, Cebu

Treehouse de Valentine is a two to three-hour drive from Cebu City. If you’re driving, enter “Hingatmonan, Balamban, Cebu” on Google Maps on Waze. If you’re commuting, you can ride a V-hire (van) at the Ayala Center Terminal going to Balamban.
