Suzhou is only around an hour by slow train and 30 minutes by bullet train from Shanghai. The city has its own charm but is especially famous for having a handful of UNESCO-listed Classical Gardens. Each one follows certain styles, and each is a great place to learn about the country’s storied past and rich culture.
