With its stunning natural sights, vibrant culture, preserved history and amazing cuisine, Zamboanga City is one of the most colorful destinations you can visit in the country. Their most famous icon is the vinta, a traditional boat that has sails with assorted vertical colors that represent the colorful culture and history of the Muslim community. You can see these boats with rainbow sails during the Regatta festival held every October and in take rides in Sta. Cruz Island, a beach island destination just 20 minutes away from the town proper.

For another dose of color inspiration, be sure to stop by the Yakan Weaving Village. The Yakan are an indigenous Muslim tribe native to the island of Basilan who are well-known for their skill in hand weaving. You can buy handmade, vibrant and stunning textiles with geometric patterns in this village.
