Everywhere you go in Japan, you’ll find a small shop selling a different kind of mochi at every corner. These sweets are so well-loved by locals and are a favorite to bring home as omiyage or souvenirs. They’re sticky rice balls often injected with sweet filling, sakura flavoring when it’s Cherry Blossom season, or whole strawberries and chocolate. It’s hard to say where the best mocha shop is in Tokyo, but you will enjoy shopping at Shiono in Akasaka. They have such amazing seasonal creations and every piece of mocha is like a work of art. You’ll love marveling at them, but you’ll love eating them even more!
