Sitting 2,200 meters above sea level, Alishan Forest Recreation Area in Chiayi County boasts magnificent sceneries, fragrant and exquisite tea, and of course, beautiful cherry blossoms in spring. Because of its location, the Alishan has the latest blooming cherry trees on the island, but the 19,000 cherry trees planted across the area prove that they are worth the wait.

As the recreation site gets extremely busy during the season, especially on the days of the annual Cherry Blossom Festival between March and April, the number of visitors per day is limited to 16,000, so make sure to come early.
