Ever dream of falling in love in another country? While that may not be exactly feasible right now (due to obvious reasons), you could get a glimpse of what it’s like by binging these K-dramas that were filmed around the world.

 

The Legend Of The Blue Sea

Heo Joon-jae (Lee Min-ho) is a con man who grew up in a rich family. Because of family problems, he went down the wrong path, using his good looks and hypnotism skills to scam people and steal millions of dollars. Joon-jae rewards himself by going on a trip to Spain, where he meets a mysterious girl who doesn’t speak. Little does he know that this mysterious girl would play an important role in his life. The storyline of The Legend Of The Blue Sea started in Spain and was shot in Barcelona, Sitges, Girona, and A Coruña.

 

The K2

When former mercenary soldier Kim Je-ha (Ji Chang-wook) is accused of murdering his lover, he becomes a fugitive. After his return to South Korea, he receives an offer to be the bodyguard of Go An-na (Im Yoon-ah), the secret daughter of a presidential candidate. Some parts of the series were shot in Barcelona. Some notable landmarks seen in the drama include the Monastery of Santa Maria de Santes Creus and the Train Station Magoria-La Campana.

 

Doctor Stranger

Famous doctor Park Cheol (Kim Sang-joong) and his son Park Hoon (Lee Jong-suk) were tricked and sent North Korea. Unable to return to South Korea, Park Hoon was soon trained to be a doctor just like his father. After a series of unfortunate events, Park Hoon is able to go back to South Korea and work as a doctor. But the terrors of this past soon haunt him and he is reminded of his first love. Some of the action scenes in this drama were shot in Budapest, Hungary.

 

Lovers In Paris

Classic K-drama Lovers in Paris tells the story of Kang Tee-young (Kim Jung-eun), who follows her father’s wishes and studies film in Paris. She soon works as a housekeeper for Han Ki-joo (Park Shin-yang) but because of her clumsiness, she is soon fired. However, when K-joo realizes that Tee-young is from the same hometown of a potential business partner’s wife, he hires her to act as his fiancée. And of course, they catch feelings. The drama is shot in multiple destinations around Paris, like Marcel Dassault, Place de l’Estrapade, Pont Neuf, and Restaurant Le Marche.

 

Goblin

This story of a 300-year-old goblin and his bride had us crying for days. Some of the most important scenes from this drama were shot in Quebec, Canada. The drama’s noteworthy filming locations include Chateau Frontenac Hotel and Parc du Bastion de la Reine.

 

Shopping King Louie

Louis (Seo In-guk) is a rich heir who likes to spend his money after losing his memory he meets Bok-Shil (Nam Ji-hyun), an energetic woman from the countryside. With her simplicity, she teaches Louis to earn and not spend too much on the things he wants but rather spend on the things he needs. The series starts in a luxurious chateau in France, called Château de Bourron.

 

Memories of The Alhambra

Yoo Jin-woo (Hyun Bin) is the CEO of an investment company who specializes in optical devices. Upon receiving an email about an augmented reality game, he flies to Spain. He looks for the game’s creator Jung See-joo (Park Chan-yeol) only to find out that he’s missing. He meets See-joo’s sister Jung Hee-joo (Park Shin-hye), the owner of the hostel he’s staying in, and both get entangled in mysterious incidents. The drama is shot in multiple locations, including Barcelona, Girona, and Granada in Spain; as well as Hungary and Slovenia.

 

 Encounter

Cha Soo-hyeon is a daughter of a prominent politician. At a young age, she is married off to a rich family, but ends up divorcing her husband due to his infidelity and gets the ownership to Donghwa Hotel as her alimony. As the hotel’s CEO, she’s always busy and has no time for herself. On a business trip in Cuba, she meets Kim Jin Hyeok (Park Bo-gum), a free-spirited guy who transforms her business trip into an experience worth remembering. Encounter was filmed in Havana, Cuba. Some notable locations that were featured are Casa Lafayette and Parque Central.
