Metro Manila Microcinemas to Check Out Next Weekend

Cozy up for movie date night with indie and alternative flicks.

Most of us didn’t make it to the time of the stand-alone movie house. Our memories of the cinema are mostly set in malls. It seems that the time when movies were films and weren’t all too commercial — outside the realm of film festivals and the UP Film Institute, of course — is gone. And then these microcinemas just happen to pop up!

For those who want to support local indie and foreign films, here are three alternative venues in neighborhoods around the metro you can head to instead. Ticket prices here range from PHP150-200 pesos each, making movie nights also more affordable than mall cinemas.
