This New 2D Café in Tomas Morato Looks Like Something Straight Out of a Sketch Book

The interior of this 2D cafe brings great illusions, their milk tea menu brings great joy.

If your ideal Japan, Taiwan, or Korea itinerary includes a visit to their famous, Instagrammable 2D cafes, you’ll be glad to know you experience that without flying. In case you missed it, there are 2D cafes right here in the Philippines waiting for you to snap some IG-worthy photos. Kurimi Milk Tea Bar is a 2D cafe in Tomas Morato, Quezon City which has recently opened this month. Check out their amazing interior and even better beverage menu.

Kurimi Milk Tea Bar looks like an artist’s monochrome sketch

2D cafes are surreal places where the vibrance of life on the outside becomes flattened into a monochrome world once you enter their doors. It feels like stepping inside a coloring book, almost like you’re sucked into a flat, illustrated world. The furniture is lined with black lines, and so are the windows and plants. Be careful which door you step through — it might just be a sketch!

Here’s a great tip if you’re thinking of visiting soon: Make sure to wear an outfit with a pop of color to make your Instagram photo look as surreal as possible.

The Tomas Morato branch isn’t Kurimi’s first store to sport the storybook-style interiors. Their store in Katipunan, which opened last June, also has the same 2D features. So if you’re nearer the Katipunan area, all the more reason to pay a quick visit.

Don’t these drinks look pretty?

The menu

The Instagrammable interior isn’t the only reason to love this milk tea bar. Their menu also boasts a wide range of beverages. Choose from Kurimi’s Signature Milk Teas, Cheesecake Series, Brown Sugar Cream Cheese, Cream Cheese Series, Specialty Drinks, and Fruit Tea Series. There’s bound to be a drink for anyone whether you’re a milk tea lover or not.

Try their Matcha (P80/R, P90/L) as part of their Specialty Drinks range. Other must-try drinks include the Cheesecake Milk Tea (P125/R, P135/L), Blueberry Cheesecake (P105/R, P115/L), Brown Sugar with Milk and Pearl (P110/R, P120/L), and of course the classic Kurimi Milk Tea (P90/R, P100/L).

Overall, the cheapest drink you can get will set you back for P80, not bad.
