Surigao is a dream, one that many Filipinos with a love for the ocean keep saving up for. The tourist destination is a surfing haven known locally and globally for its blue waters and the best waves to ride. Picturesque islands and lagoons are a boat ride away — Guyam, Daku, and Naked Islands, Magpupungko Tidal Pool, Bucas Grande, Sohoton Cave, and everything else Siargao. A visit to Surigao won’t be complete without seeing these wonders of nature at least once. But of course, you also need the perfect accommodation to come back to at the end of your adventures. Club Tara Resort at Dona Helen Bucas Grande Island in Surigao Del Norte is the next perfect summer destination. Not only is it near all the Surigao prime spots, but it also lets you have a luxurious stay with the ocean just outside your door.

Beautiful accommodation

Aside from what nature has to offer, you’re also there to have a grand time in beautiful rooms. Club Tara Resort thankfully does not disappoint. They’ve got the Jacuzzi Water Cottage (P5,000) for two and the Jacuzzi Family Water Cottage (P7,000) for four. Both feature a lagoon and sea view, something you’d be delighted to see first thing in the morning. The rooms come with complimentary breakfast, free use of kayaks, the pool, and the private beach.

Club Tara also has Garden Rooms for two, four, and six starting at P2,500 and a dormitory that can accommodate up to 15 pax. These likewise come with free breakfast and use of kayaks, a pool, and a private beach.

And if you’re worried about missing out online, you’ll be glad to know all rooms come with free Wi-Fi access. You can post those aesthetic photos on the ‘Gram ASAP.

Activities you can do

Experience what Surigao (and its neighboring islands) have to offer. Club Tara can coordinate island hopping tours with the All-Inclusive Sohoton Submarine Cave Tour which starts at P3,500 per person and the Siargao Island Tour starting at P4,000 per person. The rates could go lower depending on the number of people joining the tour. Don’t miss out on these opportunities to see what your friends have been raving about whenever they mention Siargao.

How to get there

There are direct flights to and from Manila and Cebu to Surigao via Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines (via Butuan). These can be booked for as low as P1,500 one-way. But of course, you can keep your eyes peeled for promos to get a better deal.

From the airport, you can ride a van to Hayangabon Port (P200/person). Club Tara will arrange a boat to transport you from the port to the resort (P1,500/10 pax).
