Did you know that there were 1.5 billion tourist arrivals around the world in 2019? You’re not alone in feeling the rush from packing, finally walking airplane isles, and exploring new cities.

Though international travel for leisure wouldn’t be back to normal any time soon, we still can’t help but get hopeful and daydream about our dream travel destinations. Presenting vaccination cards would undoubtedly be an international travel requirement (they are now!) once travel restrictions ease and we can’t help but get curious where they would take us. If you’ve been fully vaccinated or finally secured a schedule to get your first jab, we’ve prepared a list of the world’s most-visited countries for tourists according to World Atlas:

 

10. United Kingdom

The United Kingdom welcomes 36 million tourists a year, with London as its most visited city. Some popular tourist destinations in the country include the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, and Big Ben. The following vaccine brands are accepted in the UK: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca (manufactured in Europe, Sputnik V, Janssen (JohnsonJohnson), and Covishield (AstraZeneca manufactured in India).

Known for its booming nightlife, cuisine, white sand beaches, and breath-taking tropical islands found locations like Phuket and Ko Samui, Thailand welcomes 38 million tourists a year.  The country accepts the following vaccines: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZenca, Sinophram, Sinovac, and Janssen (JohnsonJohnson).

 

8. Germany

If you want to have the best sausages, try different beers, and explore various castles, you have to visit Germany. Castles in the country date back to the 9th to 10th century! Ranking 8th in the world, Germany welcomes 39 million tourists a year, with 13 million of which visiting Berlin. The European country accepts the following vaccines: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Janssen, and Covishield.

 

7. Mexico

From pristine beaches to historical sites, Mexico is rapidly becoming a popular country to visit. In fact, tourism in Mexico directly provided jobs to over 2.3 million in 2018, the highest it has been since 2006. 5. Italy

Whether you plan on getting a tan at Amalfi Coast, visiting the Vatican, or exploring its 50 UNESCO World Heritage sites, Italy has many tourist spots, gastronomical experiences, and historical landmarks for every type of tourist, which attracts 62 million visitors a year. Some of its famous destinations include the Colosseum, Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the city of Venice. The country accepts the following vaccines: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Janssen.

 

4. China

Contrary to popular belief, The Great Wall of China cannot actually be seen from space according to NASA. China isn’t just the third-largest country in the world; it also ranks fourth as the most-visited country with 63 million tourists a year due to its delectable cuisine and rich culture and history. The country accepts the following vaccines: Sinopharm, Sinovac, Anhui Zhifei Longcom, Janssen, and CanSinoBio.

 

3. United States of America

The 80 million tourists that visit the USA every year have provided jobs to over 7 million people just in 2017. Its most-visited cities are New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, with the Big Apple taking the top spot. The country accepts the following vaccines: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Janssen.

 

2. Spain

Spain isn’t just the most visited country in the world; it’s also ranked second in Europe!
