Traveling with the family is a great way to expose your children to different cultures, widen their horizons, and experience fun-filled activities together. While there are kid-friendly spots you can visit locally, you might want to treat them to a trip abroad and make fond memories. It may be intimidating at first, but with enough planning and preparation, traveling with kids can be well worth it. To get you started, here are some kid-friendly destinations in Asia.

Hong Kong

Did you know that Hong Kong is the top destination for Pinoy families in 2023? There’s no wonder why as there’s a long list of spots, activities, and experiences for every member of the family to enjoy. For kids alone, there’s Hong Kong Disneyland that starts with a fun ride in Disney-themed trains to Sunny Bay Station. You can also opt to stay at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel to give your kids a magical experience. Other attractions around HK also include Ocean Park, Madame Tussauds, and Noah’s Ark Resort.

Singapore

Just a four-hour flight from Manila, Singapore is another favorite travel destination among Pinoys. It’s a melting pot of different cultures and each neighborhood has its own distinct personality; exploring this city-state will feel like you’re traveling to more than just one country! Some activities to try to include strolling around Gardens by the Bay, meeting animals at Singapore Zoo, a fun-filled day at Universal Studios Singapore, and playing at interactive exhibitions at ArtScience Museum. Going around Jewel Changi Airport is worthwhile too, with its plethora of shops, restaurants, and attractions for kids.

Malaysia

When visiting Singapore, some travelers make the side trip to Malaysia too, specifically to Johor Bahru. Getting there is a breeze and can be easily done via a bus ride (and it’s the cheapest way too), but if you want a seamless and more comfortable transfer for your family, you can book transfers online instead. Another advantage of heading straight to Johor Bahru from Singapore is, it’s the home to Malaysia’s popular theme parks like Legoland, Angry Birds Theme Park, and Austin Heights Water & Adventure Park.

Japan

You may need to amp up your travel savings if you wish to travel to Japan, but the number of attractions in its major cities alone is going to excite your kids. You’ll find Asia’s first Disneyland in Tokyo, Universal Studios in Osaka, and newly-opened Ghibli Park and Legoland in Nagoya – the attractions for kids are endless.

South Korea

Securing a Korean visa may be a bit of a challenge these days, but once it’s granted, it’s going to be a sweet treat for the fam. While the adults indulge in visiting filming locations of their favorite K-dramas and movies, kids will love it here too. Exploring Seoul alone offers several theme parks like Lotte World, Seoul Land, and Seoul Children’s Park. You can also let your kids experience heritage and culture through locations like Gyeongbokgung Palace where they can also dress up in traditional clothing.

Bali, Indonesia

Planning to treat the family to a tropical getaway? Bali is one of the best tropical destinations for families in Asia, with more cultural stops to discover aside from its picturesque beaches. Some destinations to visit include Bali Safari & Marine Park, Waterbom Bali, Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, and Mason Elephant Park.
