Missing Baguio? This Log Cafe in Lipa, Batangas Will Give the Same Highland Vibes

Get the Baguio experience in South Luzon!

The holidays are right around the corner, which means that nights will get longer and colder. While there is no winter in the Philippines, a trip to Baguio will give a similar feeling, with temperatures dropping as low as 11⁰C as of writing, making it a go-to destination for celebrating the holidays every year. But if you can’t easily drive to the Summer Capital and simply want a quick day trip, this cafe in Batangas will give a similar vibe.

Loghouse Cafe

Surrounded by tall pine trees, Loghouse Cafe is a cozy cabin-like cafe nestled in the city of Lipa. The temperature also drops in the cool city in the months of December to February, so make sure to bring a jacket or a scarf on your next drive going South. It’s a newly-opened spot, so if you’re looking to try a new cafe with a relaxing ambiance, this might be your new favorite!

Resembling the log cabins you’d find in the Summer Capital, Loghouse Cafe offers both indoor and alfresco seating. From the outside, you’d think it’s a house you’d want to stay at for a night or two but as you enter, you’ll be greeted by the aromatic smell of brewing coffee. P.S. It was previously a private home turned into a cafe.

The glass windows and doors will let you appreciate the surrounding nature view and the addition of a real fireplace makes its interiors cozier. Every spot is just insta-worthy! If you want to enjoy the cool weather and have the picturesque cafe as your background, go for the outdoor seats.

The Menu

After having a warm and hearty bowl of lomi in the city, head down to Loghouse Cafe for dessert or more food (no such thing as diets during the colder months). Whether you like your beverage hot or iced, they offer an assortment of coffee-based drinks starting at P80 for a shot of hot espresso. Don’t forget to try Kapeng Barako (P120) if you haven’t; Batangas is known for it and it was originally planted in Lipa City.

If you love pastries, there are lots to choose from at the cafe, starting at P80 for a Jerusalem Bagel. For the sweet tooth, they have an assortment of cheesecakes and pies as well. For those planning to stay longer to catch up with friends or family, you may opt for their burgers, sandwiches, and pasta starting at P255 for a cheeseburger.
