If you’re not posting on Instagram about travel photos or aesthetic spaces, you’re probably food and drinks. But of course, it just couldn’t be any food or drink — it has to be photogenic and pleasing to the eyes. And maybe there’s none more visually pleasing than these smoothies from JTRRD Café in Japan.

Dubbed as a “food art gallery,” JTRRD Café seems to have made it their mission to make the most aesthetically pleasing food and drinks ever known to man.

What should you order?

When you see their menu, you’d be surprised that no smoothie is listed on it. Why, you may ask, when they’re famous for that exact thing? Well, since the cafe uses the freshest ingredients available on the day itself, their menu also changes daily.

What they do instead is ask you what your favorite color is, and from there, create your drink. You can choose from six colors: yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, and red/orange. Yup, it’s really all about the look. But don’t worry — it tastes just as good as it looks. Plus the drinks are all healthy!

Each drink costs about ¥648 (around Php 300) for a short size and ¥972 (around Php 350) for the long size. It might be a little bit pricey, but we think it’s worth it — after all, you’re not just paying for any old drink, but a work of art.

If you want some food to go with your pretty drink, you can order some cakes, muffins, or tarts for a quick snack, and they’re just as aesthetically pleasing as your drink. But if you want something a little bit more filling, you can order a Paprika Omurice (¥980 + tax) or a Paprikare (paprika + ‘kare’, which means curry in Japanese) (¥1,050 + tax).

How can you get there?

You can find the main branch of JTRRD Café in Osaka, Japan. Their exact address is Tatsuta Building, 1F, 3-4-5, Temma, Kita-ku Osaka-shi, Osaka, Japan. It’s located near Tenmabashi station, so it’s pretty accessible. The cafe is open on all days except Monday, but only from 12:00 to 17:00.

The cafe has since expanded, opening a branch at Daimaru Umeda Store in Osaka, Karasuma Oike in Kyoto, Shukugawa in Hyogo, and even in Honolulu, Hawaii. Branches in Nara, Fukuoka, and Shizuoka are also in the works, so you can eventually get that pretty smoothie wherever in Japan.

Just keep in mind: they usually have quite the long waiting line, and take-out isn’t allowed, so you better set aside a couple of hours if you want to visit and have a cup of these IG-perfect smoothies.
