Hong Kong is ready to open its doors to the world again. After welcoming only 600,000 tourists in 2022, the government is keen on boosting its tourism efforts in 2023. As a part of its promotional campaign, Hong Kong is giving away 500,000 free flights in March. Here’s everything you need to know about it:

Hello Hong Kong

In case you’re looking for a sign to dust off your passport this year: “Now is the best time to travel to Hong Kong to experience life,” Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu shared on January 26 during the launch of “Hello Hong Kong”.

Hello Hong Kong is a global campaign that aims to put the city in the international spotlight again and they’re doing it in the best way possible: by giving away 500,000 free air tickets to tourists. “This is probably the world’s biggest welcome ever.”

Beginning March 1, HK-based airlines Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Airlines, and HK Express will give away these free air tickets. According to Chief Executive Officer of the Airport Authority Hong Kong Fred Lam Tin-fuk, the giveaway will last for six months.

Later this year, an additional 80,000 air tickets will also be given away to Hong Kong residents.

How can I win a free flight to Hong Kong?

The giveaway will begin on March 1, 2023 for Southeast Asian countries. According to information from the Hong Kong International website, the giveaways will be done through activities and promotions by partner airlines such as lucky draws and “Buy 1 or more – Get 1 Free”.

Details will be provided by the airlines, so keep your eyes peeled. Starting March 1, you can visit these websites to view the mechanics of the giveaway:
