Everything You Need to Know About the COMET Bus: Routes, Fare, and Schedules

Paying for your rides is also cashless.
by | February 10, 2023

Everyone’s out and about again, especially now that schools and companies have implemented onsite schedules. This also means figuring out the most convenient ways to commute. Although not entirely new, the COMET bus now has routes that will help you commute around the metro. The best part is, your rides are sustainable and environmental-friendly too. Check it out:

The COMET Bus

With the goal of revolutionizing the transport landscape in the Philippines, Global Electric Transport rolled out the COMET (Community Optimized Managed Electric Transport) bus operations in Quezon City, Cebu, and Cavite in 2018. The COMET bus is a 30-seater electric vehicle that runs on lithium batteries. It’s also fully air-conditioned for comfortable travel to and from work and accommodates people with disabilities.

The bus operator collaborated with SM in December 2022 and launched the SM Electric Bus, which has P2P routes in the northern parts of Metro Manila, specifically from SM Fairview to SM Megamall. Routes from Paranaque to Makati were launched at the end of January 2022, with upcoming routes in Batangas and Filinvest City (Alabang) soon.

These buses are cashless too

If you’re someone who doesn’t like carrying cash, here’s good news. The COMET bus is cashless – all you have to do is install the GETPass app and create an account. A QR code will be generated once you join the route you’re taking (ex. SM Electric Bus). Watch the tutorial here.

You only need to scan the code when paying for your rides. Pay for your membership tokens through GCash or ShopeePay.

Download the app on iOS and Android.
