With spectacular scenery and experiences to offer, Iceland has always been a bucket list destination for adventurous and nature-loving souls, including queer travelers.

It is among the world’s front-runners in pushing for LGBT rights (Iceland is the first country in the world to elect an openly gay head of state), with all LGBT citizens enjoying equal rights as everyone. You won’t find gay bars or gay quarters here, and they take pride in that, as they believe that everybody, regardless of their sexual orientation, functions and participates as a regular member of society. No wonder Iceland was voted as the happiest place for gay men to live in Planet Romeo’s first Gay Happiness Index in 2015. Progressive.
