Canada boasts three cities in the top 20 most gay-friendly cities in the world according to a 2017 survey conducted by Nestpick, an international housing aggregator, and Toronto places third in the overall ranking.

In 2003, it became the first city in North America to legalize same-sex marriage and has since kept its LGBT-loving status since.
