La Union, Zambales and Baler—these are the usual places that come to mind when thinking of a good place to ride the waves and experience the surf town vibe. But if you’ve already maximized all three, then it’s time to head farther south and acquaint yourself to the beautiful waves of the Bicol Region. Gubat, Sorsogon may not be in the usual itineraries due to its distance, but its secluded and peaceful vibe–not to mention the pristine beach–makes the trip worth it. Check-in at Lola Sayong Eco-Surf Camp, and you’ll find yourself surrounded with friendly locals who offer surfing lessons and nature side trips, budget-friendly local food and accommodations, and overall peaceful environment that you’ve been longing for.

Weekend 2: Dicotcotan Beach, Isabela
