Here’s to the jet setters looking into visiting Taiwan. There’s no need to worry about the July 31, 2023 visa-free deadline, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended the visa-free entry program from August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024.

Another year to plan your Taiwan travel

On April 25, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan convened with government agencies to promote the New Southbound Policy (NSP) and improve visa measures of partner countries. After evaluation, the participating agencies agreed to extend the visa-free entry measure for another year for nationals of the Philippines, Brunei, and Thailand.

“Considering the need to revive mutual bilateral exchanges and tourism in the post-pandemic era,” the ministry said in a statement.

The Project for Simplifying Visa Regulations for High-End Group Tourists from Southeast Asian Countries will continue for another year, through December 31, 2024.

Taiwan first announced visa-free entry for Filipino tourists in 2017 and has extended the program since.

How long can I stay in Taiwan under the visa-free entry program?

Filipinos can stay in Taiwan for up to 14 days under the visa-free entry program.

All you need to bring is your passport, proof of accommodation, return tickets, and sufficient funds.
