Spend Your Next Barkada Getaway at This Floating Bahay Kubo

Wishing we can ~float~ our worries away.
by | July 15, 2020

This period of quarantine has made us miss a lot of things, most especially our friends. Some of us even had to cancel trips and resort to having a long bucket list of destinations to visit. But having a fun adventure doesn’t mean you’ll have to board airplanes and travel to another island. Sometimes, all it takes is a 3-hour drive from the Metro.

Aquascape Lake Caliraya

Located in the southern shore of the man-made Lake Caliraya in Cavinti, Laguna, Aquascape offers a unique experience to its guests. Oftentimes, you would see bahay kubos as cottages in different resorts but the ones you would find here would make you feel like you’re in a luxury hotel. They have different accommodations on land but their best features are the floating houses.

And no, they aren’t just docked by the shore. They’re powered by motors and can take you on a cruise around the lake. Imagine going on a sunset cruise without leaving the bed! You can enjoy the lake’s breeze and scenic views of the surrounding lush greenery right in the comforts of the floating home.

You can also easily dive into the warm waters of the lake just by jumping off your porch – it’s truly a dream destination for a fun time with friends.

Aquascape’s floating houses are equipped amenities that would make you feel like your home away from home. The houses have a kitchen, living room, mini bar, dining table, TV set, DVD player, bath, and toilet. Since there aren’t supermarkets or wet markets nearby, it’s recommended to bring your own food.

What can you do here?

Aside from lounging all day and enjoying a relaxing lake cruise, there are plenty of water activities you can enjoy at Aquascape. They have kayaks, ATV, electric mountain bikes, jet skis, stand-up paddleboards, and speedboats. For thrill-seekers, they also have rides like banana boat, flying bird, buggy car, and tsinelas.

Guests also have access to the fish spa and outdoor Jacuzzi.

There are the types of floating houses you can choose from:

  • Floating Cottage with 2 double beds, good for 4 pax (Php 8,000)
  • Floating Cabana with 1 double bed, 1-floor mattress, and 2 couches, good for 3 pax (Php 10,000)
  • Floating Suite with 2 double beds, and 1 double floor mattress, good for 6 pax (Php 12,000)

The rates indicated are during the off-peak season. During peak season, rates start at Php 9,600 for 4 pax. An additional Php 80 per person is charged as an environmental fee.

Aquascape also has 7 land-based rooms with rates starting at Php 3,500 during off-peak and Php 4,000 for peak season.
