Considered the most-visited cemetery in the world, this 19th century burial site boasts a long roster of famous permanent residents. Among them are Polish composer Frédéric Chopin, world-renowned French cabaret singer Édith Piaf, The Doors front-man Jim Morisson, French novelist Marcel Proust, and Irish poet and playwright Oscar Wilde.

Before exploring the 110-acre cemetery, make sure to pick up a map at the conservation office. It will help you locate the plots of the late greats much easier.
