Supermoon

LOOK: “Pink Moon”, the Biggest Supermoon of 2020 From All Over the World

Big and bright and just a little bit pink.
by | April 08, 2020

Amid the coronavirus pandemic shines a literal light upon the dark night. The supermoon is a full Moon that happens when the Moon is at its nearest possible distance to Earth. This results in the moon looking bigger and brighter than usual, thus the name supermoon.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Moon had reached its perigee — or the Moon’s closest point on its orbit around Earth — early on Wednesday morning at 2:09 AM (Philippine Standard Time). It could be as much as 14% bigger and 30% brighter than the usual full moon.

Check out what countries all over the world saw during Supermoon 2020.
