Whether you’re looking into a romantic celebration, a simple lunch out with the family, or a reunion with friends, these open-air restaurants and cafes near the Metro will let you dine safely and comfortably:

 

Hiraya Restaurant

Location: 0905 Tambayan Road, Sitio Hangganan, Pag-asa, Binangonan, Rizal

Ceilings lined with sprawling grapevines, Hiraya Restaurant becomes even more magical at night once the fairy lights are switched on, making it a perfect venue for romantic dinners. Serving Filipino specialties like Lechon Kawali, Sinigang na Baboy, and different silog dishes, there’s nothing better than sharing a good meal that tastes like home with the people you hold dear. Trabi Cafe is also in the same area, where you can get coffee and tea beverages.

Greenhouse Café

Location: 9522 Enrile, Tagaytay City

Perfect for a date with your plantita mom or simply someone who’s fallen in love with plants especially during the pandemic, Greenhouse Cafe in Tagaytay is the first of its kind in the cool city. While enjoying a sumptuous menu of fresh salads, pasta, and mains like their Signature Adobo Pork Belly Slab (P370), guests at Greenhouse Cafe will be surrounded by rare plants sourced from different parts of the Philippines and Asia. It’s like dining in a mini jungle, making every plant-obsessed swoon! Burrow Cafe

Location: 13 Beverly Hills Ave, Beverly Hills Subd, Antipolo

Fan of low-key places? This cafe in Rizal is literally hidden below the ground – you’ll have to go 76 steps below the property to discover this gorgeous glass restaurant. Lined with floor-to-ceiling panel windows and sheer curtains, Burrow Cafe opens to surrounding greenery making its ambiance cozier and more rustic. They serve an all-day breakfast and lunch menu made with ingredients grown on their own farm or sourced from nearby markets in Antipolo. Some of their best sellers include Tender Beef Tapa (P360) made with Japanese beef and Lechon and Gising Gising Rice Bowl (P365).

Operating hours: Open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8 AM to 4 PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Kaulayaw Cuyambay

Location: Cuyambay Crossing, Tanay, Rizal

No need to go hiking to enjoy a scenic mountain view – Kaulayaw Cafe at Cuyambay will let you dine under dreamy fairy lights and the best scenic view of Laguna Bay and Rizal’s ridges as your background. A new location by the same team behind Kaulayaw Coffee in Antipolo, Kaulayaw Cafe offers ethically-sourced and locally-grown coffee beans, best paired with sandwiches and pastries. They also have a restaurant, which is open from 12 PM to 7 PM.

Coffee Rush Eastridge

If you’re a sucker for a good city and nature view, Coffee Rush will hit the right spot. The cafe has an unobstructed view of Metro Manila’s skyscrapers and Laguna Bay! Its ambiance will remind you of old provincial houses with its capiz shell window panes and tables made of old sewing machines. Mixed with a stunning view and good food, there’s no wonder why the coffee franchise has been a success, with two other branches in Pampanga and Katipunan. The cafe is located in a village so keep your receipt or you’ll have to pay a fee of P300 on your way out.
